One borough, two very different building jobs
Oldham asks more of a builder than most boroughs, because a job in Failsworth and a job in Uppermill are barely the same trade. Down towards Chadderton and Failsworth you're mostly working on brick terraces and post-war semis where the priority is warmth, security and a tidy frontage. Climb east into Saddleworth, Greenfield and Uppermill and you're on stone, often with exposed elevations, older lintels and roofs that take real weather.
We specify differently for each. Stone properties in Delph, Dobcross and Uppermill usually get flush-fit or sash-style window profiles and heritage colours so the frontage keeps its proportions. Brick semis in Royton, Shaw and Chadderton are more often a straight A-rated REHAU casement upgrade with a composite front door to match.
